EXPO Wet 2014 exceeded all expectations!
EXPO Mokrá 2014 took place from 10–12 June 2014 at the Českomoravský Cement quarry, becoming the 10th year of International Demonstration Trade Fair for Machinery and Equipment Used in Mining Industry, Mineral Processing and Construction Industries.
A total of 127 companies introduced themselves and their exhibits on 70,000 m² of floor space. The number of visitors reached an impressive 9,208. Following on reduced visitor participation in 2012 due to rainy weather and the unfavorable economy, the situation has now hopefully changed for the better. Czech visitors prevailed at the trade fair, of course, but there were also guests from Germany, Austria, Hungary, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Russia, Poland and Lithuania. The visitors were most often connected to the mining, construction or associated industries.
This year, the trade fair took place in scorching heat and the 10th year will thus be remembered as one of the warmest years of the trade air's existence. A large number of cooled drinks and fans made the heat more bearable and exhibitors of watering equipment and misters enjoyed special popularity. Almost all machines and equipment designated for mining and mineral processing and subsequent use were represented at the fair. And as is typical for demonstration trade fairs, machinery was seen at work – watering equipment and misters, crushers, screeners, drill rigs, loaders, hydraulic demolition pliers, demolition hammers, ripper, walking excavator, stone saws, weighing equipment, trucks and samples of aerial photography.
The accompanying program included test drives of off-road four wheelers and Tatra racing models. A demonstration aperture blasting in the adjacent quarry also enjoyed popularity by both visitors and media.
The exhibition also enjoyed success because of the support received from a large number of both Czech and foreign media partners such as magazines, organizations and web servers. The organizers are very pleased of the fact that Ivo Pěgřímek, Chairman of the Czech Mining Authority, Jan Mládek, Minister of Industry and Trade, Richard Brabec, Minister of Environment, Antonín Prachař, Minister of Transport, Roman Onderka, Mayor of Brno and Michal Hašek, Jihomoravsky County Marshal assumed patronage of the trade fair.
